CCNA event director Kitty Nguyen emphasized that the tournament's main goal is to "introduce a competitive environment at the collegiate level, while helping students pay for tuition and bridging the gap to the professional leagues."
The organization's previous event in Orange County, CA, featured 15 schools competing in games like Heroes of the Storm, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Street Fighter V, Smash 4, and League of Legends. The success of this initial tournament led to the expansion into the upcoming Las Vegas event.
The tournament will also include vendor exhibitions and an expert panel featuring prominent esports industry figures.
