High 5 Games, a licensed service provider of online slot content in Connecticut, faces 1,065 criminal counts for operating an illegal online casino platform. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Gaming Division (DCP) has suspended the company's provider license following an investigation.

The investigation revealed that High 5 Casino, marketed as a legal "licensed" casino, illegally accepted wagers from over 1,100 Connecticut customers. Of these:

  • 911 players lost a total of $937,938
  • 108 were on the state's voluntary self-exclusion list
  • Self-excluded players lost nearly $300,000

Each criminal count is classified as a Class A misdemeanor, carrying penalties of:

  • Up to one year in jail
  • Fines up to $2,000 per count
  • Potential restitution for customer losses

The DCP emphasized that only DraftKings and FanDuel are legally licensed to accept online casino bets in Connecticut.

High 5 Games responded to the charges, stating they have "always upheld the highest regulatory standards" throughout their 30-year history. The company expressed commitment to cooperating with Connecticut regulators to resolve the matter and maintain their gaming licenses.

DCP Commissioner Bryan T. Cafferelli stated that High 5 Games "took advantage of their credential to mislead consumers" and emphasized that holding a gaming license is a privilege that requires serious responsibility.
