Marvel Rivals Players Discover Some Premium Skins Actually Hinder Gameplay Visibility

Marvel Rivals players have discovered that certain character skins may actually hinder gameplay visibility, creating what some call a "pay-to-lose" situation in the free-to-play hero shooter.

A notable example comes from a player who purchased Jeff the Land Shark's Incognito Dolphin costume, only to find it obscures nearly half their screen during gameplay. The costume's puffy pink design significantly increases the character's model size compared to the base skin.

Similar issues have been reported with other characters:

  • Doctor Strange's season zero battle pass skin appears bulkier than his default
  • Groot's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 MCU skin roughly doubles his size
  • Jeff's Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume adds winter accessories that increase his model size

The visibility problem is particularly noticeable in third-person view, especially when players are backed against walls. While this camera perspective allows players to admire their purchased cosmetics during gameplay, it can create disadvantageous situations with larger character models.

NetEase Games may need to address these concerns by:

  • Implementing custom zoom levels for different skins
  • Adjusting character model sizes
  • Creating alternative solutions for visibility issues

Players are advised to carefully consider how skins might affect gameplay visibility before spending their Credits on cosmetic purchases.
