THE FINALS PC players exploit aim-assist bug for enhanced accuracy through controller settings
A critical exploit has been discovered in THE FINALS that allows PC players to unfairly access controller aim-assist while using mouse and keyboard, creating an "aimbot-like" advantage in matches.
The exploit is surprisingly simple to execute:
- Connect a controller to your PC
- Enable aim-assist in settings
- Hold any controller input while using mouse and keyboard
- Continue playing with enhanced accuracy
This oversight undermines the original purpose of aim-assist, which was designed to help controller players compete fairly in crossplay matches against mouse and keyboard users. The exploit is particularly concerning as it gives PC players precision far beyond normal capabilities.
The issue joins a list of challenges facing THE FINALS during its open beta, including:
- Growing concerns about cheating
- Requests for region locks to prevent cheating
- Players calling for improved anti-cheat measures
While similar exploits have appeared in other games historically, this issue is expected to be addressed before THE FINALS moves beyond its beta phase, which ends November 5th. Embark Studios has not yet announced a full release date.
